I find this agate necklace with unusual shape of stones unique and wonderful. The previous owner told me she had gotten the necklace from an older relative some time back and thought it was bought in brazil in the 60's. She was given it with this vintage box and therefore she thought that this necklace was made by the company. There is no mark on the necklace but the style and vintage "feel" of this necklace makes me think it is posible it is from that time. When I searched online I found information on the internet that the company is headquartered in Brasil. The information said the first store was opened on the Rio de Janeiro docks in 1949, the point of arrival for international passengers on cruise ships. Later they have moved to make exklusive high end jewelry. I can't tell if that information is correct nor if it is likely that they made this necklace. If anyone know more or has any ideas on it, please enlighten me.
I find it to be of high quality how the stones have been shaped and assembled together but the wire and clasp is rather simple.

    Update of my question:
When I red about the company it seems one could interpret it as if they first worked with precious stones and later changed into more exclusive fashioned jewelry. Could a simple design go together with the selling of jewelry to tourists at the docs with the focus on the stone rather than the whole setting? Any one who knows? Thankful for information and any corrections since I don't have answers only questions.

This is a very nice Agate Necklace Elisabethan, the way was made, makes it look like Coral, but polished and shiny! :^D
This is what I came up with, my Grandmother(1 of 5 sisters), was born 1887 in Minn., her Father(Eklund) was born 1850 in Sweden, her Mother(Carlson) was born 1850 in Gotenborg, Sweden, I know that their names are very common names in Sweden, but it's the best that I can do! :^)

Hello! Yes the names are quite common and Göteborg (Gothenburg) is one of our largest towns. I don't know any Eklunds and the only Eklund I know of is one of our most loved theater and film actors, Jakob Eklund from Göteborg, maybe he is a relative of yours? :) :)

One of my grandmothers brothers went to America and never came back. I don't think they saw each other ever again. I can't even grasp how it must feel to make such a journey by boat and to make that huge decision to leave your country, family and friends behind even if you felt you had to and travel into the unknown future. Must have been hard and you really must have good reasons to make such a decision and follow threw. But the same thing happens to people today as well in the world. I think of that when people want to come here.

My husbands' family also have relatives who went to America. Their great grandchild came with her family to visit the large family here in Sweden a few years ago. We had a great reunionparty for them. One lady had made a whole wall with the familytree with photos of people and the history so we could all see how they were related with eachother. So much fun!

For several seasons we have had a reality TV show here in Sweden where Americans with Swedish ancestry come to Sweden to search their roots and find out more. Some of the houses of those who once left are still standing and they have visited those places. The winner of the reality show gets to meet and have a huge party with their swedish families. So you can see, this is still a big thing for us who stayed and for those who came after those who left :)

Here is a link about those who left. I think you might be able to choose it in english. If not you can see some photos from the time:
