I Love these hand-painted Pennsylvania plaster dogs. I recently found this large one at a local antique shop.

      ho2cultcha,
I am actually not sure. The dealer I buy them from calls them plaster dogs (?)
      Newfld and jscott,
      Thank you!

I think plaster is solid all the way through and chalkware has a hollow body cavity.

      Chalkware can be solid too.
