    Been dragging out more Boy Scout stuff all week and came up with a nice table full of stuff. Most notable are the canteens and mess kits in the top row. That and the axe I think. Got a bunch of books and pamphlets too along with the usual patches. In the lower left corner there are some cards that go with the merit badges. The pioneering pamphlet is there, that would be one tough merit badge to get. Almost a difficult as the straw into gold merit badge. Anyway a lot of stuff here.
    Photo #4 wraps it up with my Scouting Appreciation plaques. Most are based on Norman Rockwell paintings and are about 50-60 years old.
    OK perhaps next week I will post a new improved complete uniform.

      Always nice to see Scout stuff, especially if it's items from my era. I had that green double size canteen and mess kit. Great collection. I agree about the Merit Badges. A lot of folks won't appreciate how tough some of those Merit Badges were to get unless you've experienced it. I have a lot of respect for someone who achieved Eagle during our Scouting age, it's something to be proud of that you'll carry with you through life.

      Awesome collection. The rectangular canteen is unusual, Think I've only seen round rounds before. Is it a newer one?

      Spent meany years in scouting , both as a boy and scout master And enjoy seeing the old scouting stuff . Very said to see what has happened to my Boy Scouts . The trust and purpose in long gone .

      It is a shame Purvis, they knuckled under to the media and lost all their original core values.
