    I am trying to find any information on the company who made this step ladder.
    As you can see there are two metal hinges both stamped "American Steps".....I have searched the Internet but no luck

    any information appreciated.

      This is a vintage folding library step ladder. I have seen a good many of them when I was a kid. They were made by many different companies and you will find many of them online.

      Hi

      Solved it!

      It is a copy of a "Hatherley Lattistep". Patented in the UK in 1882 and 1883 in the USA. The USA patent expired in about 1900 so I guess it was made just after that ..patent copied.
