      Bobdirt, Cool. :-)

Somebody has a brochure that shows number 18, but they describe it as being circa 1910's, and the picture with the woman wearing a relatively short skirt makes the 1910s doubtful:

Indeed, I found the design patent, and that's from 1927:

      *snip*

      UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.

LEON W. MITCHELL, OF ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR TO ROCK ISLAND STOVE CO., OF ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS, A CORPORATION OF ILLINOIS. DESIGN FOR A HEATING STOVE.

Application filed nine 22, 1927. Serial No. 22,527. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, LEON W. MITCHELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rock Island, in the county of Rock Island and State of Illinois, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Heating Stove, of which the following is a specification, reference being made to the. drawing, forming a part thereof.

The figure is a perspective view of a heating stove showing my new design.

      I claim:

The ornamental design for a heating stove as shown.

      LEON W. MITCHELL.

Whoops, I just looked back, and realized there's a fairly significant mistake in that design patent text excerpt:

      "Application filed nine 22, 1927."

      Should read:

      "Application filed June 22, 1927."

I used an OCR tool to convert the text in the PDF, it misread it (not an infrequent occurrence for OCR tools), and I didn't catch it before I commented. >8-0
