I took apart the picture of the little girl that I posted a few days ago and to my surprise, this picture was behind it. The little girl was a print and copyrighted in 1901. This lady picture is great shape and hard to tell how long she has been in frame unseen. Hope you enjoy!

What a great picture, it was really nice the way the photographer would color tint photos. Perhaps she is the little girl's mom

It is a photographic enlargement. These were very popular in the 1870s- about 1920.

When the photograph was enlarged, details were often lost and colored in by a studio artist. Among photo collectors, the color enhanced images are often called pastel prints and the black enhanced prints are referred to as charcoals.

Not sure on the size of this, but the most popular size seems to be 16 X 20 inches.

Eileen, thank you. Yes, it is amazing to find extra treasures when you are not expecting them. This has happened a couple times to me. The money would be nice to, haha!

I have had exactly the same experience a few times. Sad that the identities of the people in these images have been lost.
