This 1 1-2" basket brooch is overflowing with black enamel, goldtone & rhinestone kittens, and is a Carolee design. Not marked but got this on auction with a Carolee hangtag I have misplaced, it was a Neiman Marcus purchase from the 1990s. The co was founded in 1972 by Carolee Friedlander

Too cute! Were all the "Lee" sisters??? I didn't realize there were so many!
I can just hear these kitties mewling impatiently and curiously peeping from and nudging each other around in the basket- such lively and vocal little creatures! I especially like the little black one peeping out over the edge with his bright green eyes!

I really like the way Carolee made them differently (metal, enamel & rhinestone) but all have the pretty green eyes that make them related
Right Lauren, can't you just hear the baby meows as they jockey for position, and agree the black one is the best, with its outlined face it really resembles a Laurel Burch cat who did those great cat brooches in the 80s, wonderful comment thanks so much
