Found this at a thrift store and couldn't leave it there. I really would like to know what it is, lol. I'm not sure if it's new and re-purposed "shabby chic". It has an old world charm about it. It reminds me of a children's antique wash stand. It's about half my size (I'm 5'7). It's red, and has what looks like hand-painted flowers on the drawer front and on the sides, which gives it a kind of Bavarian feel. I checked for any markings underneath the piece, and all I saw was what appears to be a "5" stamped on it in black ink. Any info would be great. I'm stumped on this. Thanks!

Disagree-- this is a smoking stand.

The hole was for the ashtray.

Size shows it is too small to be a washing basin stand. Additionally attempts use use a wash bowl with this would be tough with the cross piece centered above the hole.

      You're right Scott, here's one:

      https://vintage-modern-revival.myshopify.com/products/vintage-retro-mid-century-era-modern-floor-ash-tray-ashtray-smoking-stand-cigar

I don't think that there's that much difference in size between the two though, and most of the Smoking Stands had Humidors, in a Cabinet under the Cigar Tray! :^)

I guess that's why there's burn marks from Cigarettes all over the top, of the one here! :^)
