Chinese carved vintage necklace from 1970s, todays flea market find. The material is smooth and cold to touch, dense. It has nice old smell, too. I thought it is carved bone, imagine my surprise when I googled identical one pendant sold as ivory.

That would be probably my first ivory find. Without my loupe I am not able to determine if this is ivory, or not - is there some smell test?
The seller was funny, he sold me the necklace for 1 EUR saying he cannot wear it so what he can do with the necklace - I told him that in todays times he can wear everything - he did not seem to appreciate the suggestion! :D :D
I would be thankful for your opinion on this, as usual :)
