    Ms.Crystal…
    (111 items)

    Seems everyone liked Carnegie’s design.
Here’s an 80’s piece from KJL, literally!
There’s a neat story behind this find. The lady I bought this brooch from, her Mother was friends with the man himself..Kenneth Jay Lane! Her Mother, Bettina VonWalhof, was given some jewelry directly from him, and this is one of those pieces, so this brooch never saw a store. I’m very happy to have come upon this little guy because you rarely see ones except by Carnegie. Like I said when I posted my Kramer, I don’t really care for Carnegie's. The head is too elongated and the rs are bigger and are covered in ab. Seems the KJL version is a little more elaborate than Kramers with the rs wings otherwise, they are nearly identical, with subtle differences.
    ENJOY!

Both are wonderful! But the KJL is gorgeous! Great to know the owner's relationship to KJL too. Write that down and keep it with this pin, don't you think? :)

Sorry for the late response...been very busy this holiday season. My Grandsons keep me hopping.

Thank you Mary, that’s a great idea!
Since my jewelry is to go to my Daughter, I definitely should start a journal of some sort so she knows the history behind each piece. Seriously, this never entered my mind to do so before. You’re a genius!

      Thank you Mrs. T.
These are so hard to come by, and when they do, $$, but if I remember right the Kramer was a real good deal.

Awe Ken, that’s so kind of you to say. She is a pretty fantasy horse, isn’t she?

Scott, Kentucky is a wonderful state known for their equine excellence, and yes! I would love to see The Kentucky Derby in person!

Thank you for loving my fantasy horses Mani!

Maureen, you are so nice with your comments. Especially with your jewelry history, I feel I did good!

And thank you for all the loves dears, apologize for being so late to respond....

Trey, thank you for all the loves lately on my jewelry. So very kind of you. I love mythology in general...fantasy horses especially. Would love to find a “Pan” god of the mountain wilds.
There’s a beautiful one in Fine Jewelry I adore!

Mary, you said to write down the previous owner’s relationship to this Pegasus.
      I have one better!
Bettina VonWalhof wrote me a hand written note for prosperity on this wonderful horse and on another piece I purchased lately from her, saying “Dear Eileen....what a glorious friend Kenneth was and how happy she was that a collector has these gifts now”!
Such a wonderful lady, did you know she was a child star, she was in original Tarzan movies! A fabulous jewelry designer in her own right, I am honored she took the time to write me, and to part with her gifts from Mr.Lane. To me, these are priceless!

Yes they are priceless! I have been enjoying KJL posts and learning more abut different eras. So sad to think of treasures I left behind in the 80's-90's because honestly not my style, my preferred brooches are 1970's and earlier. I don't collect labels. Hope you understand. Still thanks CW, I appreciate other collections but I feel bad I sent you a QVC bangle. LOL
    16. Ms.CrystalShip Ms.CrystalShip, 14 days ago
Mary! Not even! As you say, you yourself like the 70’s jewelry more than the 80’s-90’s! ( does that go for music too?, ha! Only 80’s band I liked was Stray Cats, but getting off topic!) Granted I prefer the older KJL as I said in my profile, but to each their own, and all of his jewelry, whether 60’s or 90’s, is wonderful and collectible. Just some is easier to come by..like QVC pieces. That’s all I was getting at, (though some continue to not read my words clearly) As for the bracelet you sent me, I have worn it several times with a navy blue sweater, and it really stands out! Also I have received many compliments! So there...lol
