Love your bottle pics. I cannot seem to get good pics of my embossed bottles to post. I don't have a great camera either but still can't get good ones. I have quite a few of these 7ups also!

Thank you Iggy. I have a background in photography s so it helps. I have a pretty good Nikon that has adjustable settings for all types of lights. But it's still hard to get 7UP bottles like this to show up well.

Thanks buckethead. Pixels are free so I keep taking photos until I like the results.

One of the few American bottle makers still in business.

kwqd true that. And they have struggled mightily to stay afloat for many years now. Owens-Illinois is the industry leader right now.

I have a lot of cousins around Alton, IL. Not sure if any of then ever worked in the Alton plants before they closed. Some probably did...
    8. WesternPA-Collector WesternPA-Collector, 4 months ago
kwqd they probably did since it was such a large plant, and Alton isn't a big city.

I've recently found the same 7up bottles at an old farm dump on my sons property, one made by Anchor Hocking 1968, and two made by Owens Illinois from 1969.

motelmark It sounds like that farm dump has some potential. Owens-Illinois was always one of the main Anchor Hocking competitors. In fact it was Owens-Illinois who eventually took the Rolling Rock contract from Anchor Hocking in South Connellsville and caused the plant to close.
