I've had this gauge for some time and came across it recently. I thought it might be an interesting thing to post for our fellow collectors. It's a steam pressure test gauge mfg. by S.G.V. in Boston Mass. It has a 3 1/2 " dial and measures up to 300 PSI in 20 psi increments.
I believe that it might be early by the thick beveled glass on the dial. The gauge is about 2" thick and appears to be plated with nickel or maybe chrome. It is also quite heavy for it's size.If it is chrome plated, then it is a later piece.
It may have never been used by the pristine condition that it is in. I don't know if it was made for steam boiler or a steam locomotive.

Look closely into the hole in its threaded mounting nipple. If the metal inside there is as pristine as everything on its exterior looks, it might very well be NOS...? A BEAUTIFUL old gauge, either way!! <applause>

thanks anything, It has no deposit on the wall of the hole. It is as clean as the outer surface.
