This post is being made in memory of Frank Ford.

This vase is from the Fenton Off Hand line that was created in 1925-26. This dark threaded mosaic 3024 Egyptian vase is one of the rarest color productions in that line of glass. We don't use the word "rare" lightly. Ironically, it was the first piece of Fenton Off Hand glass we bought before we were even fully aware of what we were buying. We got lucky with this one.

Over the past couple of years Frank would chide us when we would post our Fenton Off Hand wares into another forum. He would say that we "must be making this glass in our basement" or that we had a key to Frank M Fenton's closet. This seemed to be the one piece Frank liked the best of all the Fenton we put up.

So Frank, RIP our friend. Your knowledge of art glass and your wit will be sadly missed.

    8-1/2" (21.6 cm) tall

Ah, such a remarkable piece, I love the cobalt base. Sadly, I know nothing of glass but I have a few Fenton vases that were handed down from G-Grandma. Nothing of this caliber though!
      Just lovely!
