Great old 1950's Gabby Hayes Fishing Kit!!! I got one like this on Christmas when I was 7 or 8 years old. Back then we got one fun present and the rest were clothes!!! I got up early to see what Santa left!!! WOW!!! a fishing present!!! What would you do if you got this??? Right!!! you would go fishing. I walked 4 miles to Tar Wharf!!! Dorchester Mass. 4 or 5 hours later I was walking home, (NO Fish because I had no bait!!) Police were at our house looking for me!!! WHY??? I JUST WENT FISHING!!!

Gabby was quite a guy was born in NY. Never rode a horse til he was in his forties for a movie!!! Hoppalong and John Wayne and others.
Popeils pocket fisherman brought back memories!! I was fishing off the Sugar Bowl (nickname) t was a round area at the end of a stone pier. when a young man pulled out one!!!! It casted out about ten feet not enough to reach the water!!! We let him use one of our rods.
