This piece is typical of the colors, forms, and types of decoration being done by Loetz in the early 1890s. This particular DEK, III/125, in white enamel and gold decorating ink has not been previously documented - it closely resembles DEK III/115, which was used on pieces on display at the Columbian Exposition of 1893 in Chicago. This color, heliotrope, is a pale opalescent color named after the flower of the same name, a purple-flowered plant of the species Heliotropium arborescens. This piece is just under 4" tall and about 5" wide.

Hi fellow Bohemian lover! I truly am Bohemian! My Grandfather came over on the boat from Bohemia.
