Hey everyone, picked up this trunk about 2 months ago, this was a very well made high end trunk in it's day, leather covered with a very nice brass eagle lock, heavily adorned with all cast hardware, lot of taping, my fingers were sore, no makers label so that is a mystery, large trunk 34 wide 22 deep and 31 tall, had to remove the front latches and repair them so they would work, also found two keys for the lock on ebay. I will be starting on the interior very soon and will post more pictures when done, hope you like it, Brian.

I got a pretty large chest a while few months ago, needs a lot of work. I think I want to do a coffee table. Found some 1930’s National Geographic, goes good with coffee table idea

Absolutely STUNNING!! Brian. Great Job and certainly a trunk to be proud of for sure. I have yet to see that style of hardware for the front top edge clamps. Always neat to see something different.

Well Brian, I think Trunkman was right being eye candy. So I thought I would say don't think just because of one comment ..by me anyway, that that would be the end of looking at your work and your trunk. I can't count the number of times I have gone back in to admire your expertise...mostly.... and for sure the trunk its self. But without your efforts & experience, it would be just a neat looking old trunk. Again a stunning work of art!! Thanks!!

Again, I appreciate it so very much Tom, thank you.

Brian,When I saw this trunk I just loved the latches as well as everything else. I had only seen them once or twice before.I searched for the patent for a just a little bit (Ha! B.S... a lotta bit).Today while surfing for patents I might have just found it or maybe I'm as they say " danger close".You be the judge.

Jim said they were patented in 1885, so thats probably it.
