Pictured here are four quart baby top milk bottles from Pecora Dairy...Hazleton, Pa. Pecora Dairy was the first dairy to introduce the baby top milk bottle. Michael Pecora was the inventor of these unique bottles. The four bottles pictured represent the early detailed style baby top head. Embossed on the front upper shoulder is BABY TOP BOTTLE....TRADE MARK REGISTERED.....PATENT DESIGN NO. 98609.
These early styles are rarely offered for sale unlike the newer bottle styles. It has been many many years since I have even seen these type early baby tops for sale. I am always searching for them or even information on any collector who has one. When this group of four bottles was offered for sale. I wasn't willing to continue to search for another 10-15 years to buy one. The result...…"bite the bullet & buy the whole group of four bottles." ***A fifth rare bottle was offered as shown in my next post.
**** ALWAYS WATCH FOR THE UPPER SHOULDER EMBOSSING ON THE FRONT OF BABY TOP MILK BOTTLES. If the bottle is in good shape with a dairy name on it, you have a good find. (assuming the price is decent).
WesternPa-Collector.....yes, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire four different early style variations of Pecora baby tops. I would have regretted not making the deal. The cop the cream salesman sample was "icing on the cake" to finalize the purchase.
