Beautiful chest with carved wood small round label stating Lane Crawford Silversmith Hong Kong sadly without the cutlery but does anyone know anything about it or able to age it ?

So pretty although a bit bartered.

My eyes are old but as my computer shows it, it doesn't say Silversmiths. The lead S is an 8 and I don't find that as a registered trademark for some reason. Could be just old eyes failing.

Well done Fhrjr2 I will re-google :) I can't seem to find anything else about it so interesting, your eyes are fine perhaps it is mine that are failing *note to self get eye test :) x

      Bartered? I meant battered!

Regardless of how your research turns out, don't remove the label. I say that because even if it turns out to be a fake some fakes are actually collectable and worth a good amount. Never call it quits until you know all the facts. If it turns out not so good, promote the not so good as a selling point. You would be amazed how many people will buy something just because it is unusual or a fake. Never hide the bad part, use it to your advantage. Especially on eBay, people on eBay will buy anything.

Great tip thank you - the little imperfections I love - gives it depth and history.

I think it maybe 1930’s or could be 1950’s .

Did the autograph books come inside it!
      There’s potentially value there also.
I love Antiques Roadshow and it’s just amazing it autographs are so valueable.....So take good care of them also and have them assessed. Someone thought they were worth collecting and keeping safe inside that pretty chest!
Good luck!! And be sure to post the outcome, whenever you get to that point.

No they didn't I just shoved them in there. They are from 1914-1916 pretty drawings and little messages.

I am sure I was born in the wrong era ;) . thank you for your help.
