I have these two big heavy cast iron candle lanterns that I inherited. I finally found one on the internet and the site claims that they are 37 pounds heavy and are from the early 1900's, antique. I wonder if that is accurate dating information. I believe the weight. Does anyone know where these were made? 20" including the hanger loop standing up. 12 1/2" wide square across the roof.

you have done elaborate work to photograph ,ty ,i know whats it is but i need further information, but tilt the piece so i can see bottom and the finishing between the rooftop and the ning square quadrant
and i need a picture of the bottom , probably inside dimpels, and the bottom will probably a 4 slope cut out and one lip

i do really do love you love all but ALWAYS POT A PHOTO OF THE BOTTOM

renedijkstra thank you for your attention. I have added a few new photos of the top and base. I didn't see any any marks of identification but it is dark outside at the time. If I can replace a photo to help with identification, I sure will. Thanks again.

excellent job we are a good team , ty i have to dome some guessing and some science
first of all its a heavy cast, because the slopes on the bottom are quite deep , so i think its a 13 or 17 inch

second of all it got the back swirl handle , which narrows its down to early 1900
this is a collectors item but not a design item
you got lanterns inside home , and outside home and porch lanterns

its a heavy cast and it got no suspension , so its a multifunctional

something strange happened with the piece because the corrosion has a disparity , so i think its probably used indoors

the problem is the disparate corrosion diminish the value

the value depended on the actual user quality, nowadays i think people love japanese toro,s more
so its rather cute , but it will be hard to make money out of it , its a niche branche
