    Broochman
    (200 items)

These brooches are from the 1975 and are 2" tall and 1.75" wide. One in gold tone and the other platinum, with faux pearls. I like buying in pairs when I can. When I was little my Dad planted many trees on our property. Each of us kids had our own tree, mine was the best for climbing! We even had an apple orchard. Thanks for looking.

All this time and I never knew you had an apple orchard!
What kind of apples did you grow?
We had Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Rhode Island Greening, Pippin, Arkansas Blacks, ( my Mother’s prize apple, people came from all over the state for these). Winesap, we had a German apple called a Bytenhymer...they were over 1 lb. , Old Fashioned Striped Delicious, ( my favorite), Roman Beauty, Jonathans, to name a few! And Pears, Peaches, Plums, Nectarines, Cherry’s, Figs, Apricots, and to top it off, TWELVE 200 years old English Walnut Trees. ( oldest in the county). And this Fruit Farm was just a Hobby!

Eileen, we had red delicious, with more apples that we could eat. So we invited people to bring their baskets and help themselves. Some peach trees, but after a few years died due to frost. Wow! Your family had them all and they didn't sell? That's amazing!! Does your family still have this farm? Thanks for sharing part of your life growing up, with me and the other members of CW ! :)
