I found this large room screen today. I think it's 19th or early 20th century. It's 8.25 inches long and 6 ft 10 inches tall. The wooden crosspieces are red on the sides and thickly gilded on top, so it catches the light so wonderfully! There are elaborate brass fittings on it, but they along with the wooden frame have varnish which has darkened to almost black. hopefully, i'll get better pics tomorrow. Can anyone read the script? Chinese? Japanese? any info appreciated. thanks.
