This Kurata Craft Glass decorative plate/bowl, made for Mikasa, is 14" in diameter x 1.5" high with a 5" x 1" circular depression in the middle. It weighs over 5 lbs. There is a ground pontil mark on the bottom. This is the last of five pieces of labeled Japanese art glass for my $100 challenge and I had $19 left for the final piece. I have already bought two pieces of Kurata Craft Glass for this challenge and wanted to find a piece from another maker and was prepared for this to take some time, but the stars lined up on this one for me. I found it on ebay for $19 from a local private seller who lives a few blocks from where I had an appointment. Karma? Destiny? Blind luck?
@Broochman - Thanks for the comment. I think so too!

That’s are really different piece of Kurata, beautiful. Even in their higher production works the quality remains.
That’s a beautifully shaped bowl.
@racer4four - Thanks for your comment! I have not been able to find another example of this bowl. Kurata did use this approximate color combination in other pieces for Mikasa, but all of those I have found were opaque.
Thanks for loving my Kurata bowl!

@renedijkstra - Thanks for the nice comment. I really like this piece, too. It is a bit hard to display, though.
Thanks Thomas!
