This 1 3-4"L brooch shows a colorful blue & green enamel bird perched on a branch with one green eye and rhinestone accents on goldtone. Signed Panetta (1945-1980) ca 1960s

This little brooch is so sweet- I love his colours and his lovely active and very focused pose. I wonder do you know of the bird called a wren? There common where I live and yours reminds me a good bit of wrens, they sorta can be seen perching on stalks of corn like this and have little round bodies and very cocked-up tails but yours has a lot more cheerful colours than a wren!

Lauren yes I thought of a wren by the shape of this bird's head, great observ, that is what this looks like though of course the designer just called it 'bird' (so creative right!). Thank you for your super comment and great comparisons to the real bird
Thanks Eileen for the lovely praise, yes Panetta really did a nice job with the enamel colors and agree the male of the species in birds always has the bright colors, as you mentioned the robin (crested, this could also be that one) is a brilliant red in males and a drab brown in females!
