The Sherman Siam Red and Clear bracelet, that is the focus of this post, is 7 3/4” long and 2” wide. I, earlier, wrote about this bracelet in Comments on the Siam Red and Clear Centennial brooch. And it is a very close approximate match. Although the massive size of the bracelet creates a certain perception distortion, the Siam navettes in this bracelet are an exact match to the size/type of navettes in the Centennial brooch. You will note that the smaller size of the Centennial brooch dictated that the equal cut (though) round stones on the two pieces differ in size.
The second photo is of 3 Sherman cuffs — 2 Clear; 1 Siam Red. Sherman cuff bracelets are a favourite among collectors; are quite rare. Collectors who actually wear their jewelry need to be aware that the majority of Sherman cuffs, that are known to be in Canadian collections in 2020, fit the wrist of an average to small person.
The third photo is of several Clear Sherman bracelets and interesting Clear Sherman brooches. Widths of the bracelets include 2”, 1”, and 3/4”.
The Red Siam and Clear bracelets, perhaps, can be dated in the 1960s ... and, possibly, even into the 1970s. Sherman was indeed going through a transformation of product lines during the 1970s. The clear and red rhinestone/crystal lines seem to have been long time favourites; so barring information to the contrary, I want to say, at this time, that clear and red production just might have continued into the 1970s.
Bracelets and brooches in these photos are all in Mint condition.
Beautiful!
Stunning bracelet, what a gorgeous red and lovely design
Called rose cut stones, mainly.
Wow!
What color combo is better than “Ruby” & “Ice”?
Magnificent Sherman bracelet, Leanne!
I love the alternating navettes and chatons!
Beautiful design!
Thank you, Mrstyndall, Newfld, PhilDMorris, Ms.CrystalShip.
Grateful for the nice comments.
I see that some owners are calling these bracelets “flexible cuffs.” Don’t know if that terminology is standard ... or longstanding ... or not; but I made the choice not to use it here because I did not have full understanding of appropriateness or acceptance.
Happy New Year, Leanne!
So nice to have another Sherman collector on board! I love this “Ruby & Ice” bracelet!
Here’s to a 2020 full of “Peace & Love”! ( went to a Ringo Starr concert with my Daughter last summer. His message has kinda stuck, ha!)
Happy 2020 to you!
Happy New Year, Eileen & Mrstyndall. I think I should redo these photos. They aren’t really very attractive.
Thanks for the Loves:
