I adore all of your birds, each week you have a new one and THAT'S my favourite for this week but now this one this week is definitely my favourite! His colouring is so vivid peachy pink and his pose seems to make him seem so shy- maybe he's sitting on a branch in the jungle and has just been spotted?
Very detailed. Love the little cabochons on it.

Thanks so much for the great compliments Ken, he is a rather bright flashy macaw in keeping I suppose with Mr Mackie's dress designs such as those for Cher. He was very talented & this is one of his prettiest brooches I think
Lol Thomas, my cousin used to go to Jimmy Buffett concerts & wear the parrot head hats, I don't know if I'd have been that bold but I would definitely wear a parrot pin or t-shirt if I went! I really like his laid back songs esp Margaritaville, thank you for the very cool comment & my smile
Super thanks Eileen for the wonderful praise, glad you enjoyed this it has the Christmas colors in it, and oh yes I do know the large parrots like macaws are endangered, it doesn't help things when they keep setting fires in Brazil's Amazon rainforest where they hail from :(
Lauren I am so happy this is your new favorite bird piece of mine, I seem to always gravitate to more birds than any other animal in jewelry as I was once a bird owner & love them so much. That's very observant, it does look as if someone just caught him on the branch lol, fabulous comment as always
Mary I join you as a fellow crazy bird lady lol! I am SO impressed you met Bob Mackie, also Marie St John & went to an Adrian museum show, this is one delightful reason to live on the west coast, all the celebrity sightings! Here on Long Island there would occasionally be celebrity clothing line shows and you could line up to meet them & get an autographed photo, I met the tennis pro John Newcombe (super handsome) and actress Jennifer o'Neill who had the most beautiful hazel eyes I've ever seen, like a cat's. Thank you so much MrsT for the kind compliment, the cabochons are actually pretty colors that didn't show up in my photos, the eyes are a deep blue and the perch end has a ruby red cab, I always do my best on pix but the enamel was so bright on this bird I didn't want to over light it
Yep Eileen, Mary is very lucky, I'm sure you've had some west coast celebrity sightings too and I'd love to hear about em!
