This bud vase made by Kurata for Mikasa is 5" high x 4" wide x 3.25" deep. The bottom is ground flat and polished, but not shiny. The label survives on the bottom. It has at least four layers, an inner layer of black, a layer of blue, a clear layer with metal flakes in it and an outer layer of clear glass. A lot going on for such a small piece. Unless brightly lit, it looks black and silver, but in bright light it looks blue and silver. Heavy enough to be used as a paperweight, but I assume it is either meant to be a bud vase or to just be decorative. Probably 1980s.
Beautiful vase with great texture, love the kaleidoscopic pic #4
@Newfld - Thanks Jenni! #4 reminds me of looking through ice into dark water. With my phone camera, I am lucky when I get good images.
