The two classical wreath sets are opaque ... and opaque plus coloured rhinestone Sherman brooch and clip earring sets. Each opague+ set came to me complete in 2018. These colours and stones are difficult to discover. All pieces are marked — the brooches in rectangular cartouches. Note the two different clip style of the earrings. At the time of this writing, majority thought is that the smaller clip is a newer make. These two sets are gold-plated, as are all Christmas Colours sets I have seen so far. To be precise, these opague+ stone/colour groupings are not what are affectionately termed Christmas Colours; yet I quite like them both, and thought they were appropriate for a post at this time of year.

The third, a tiered spiral cluster crystal/rhinestone brooch was created using three colours. The navettes are Emerald, Emerald AB and Sapphire. Edge stones are Emerald AB. The set is japanned. All pieces are marked.

    Jade wreath —1 3/4”
Jade, Emerald, Sapphire AB Wreath — approx. 2”
Emerald, Emerald AB, Sapphire Spiral Cluster Brooch — 2”

    Merry Christmas! or
    Happy Holidays!

Very beautiful set, Sherman had such a talent for combining opaque and sparkling rhinestones like nobody else. Happy holidays

Leanne, these are truly rare, as Phil says.
The green opaque against the emerald chatons is stunning!
The all green opague set had to hard to come by, all I can say is wow!
I do believe we have another wonderful Sherman Collector in our mist!

The earrings in this first grouping are quite spectacular and as hard as it gets to find, I would have loved to see the massive pinwheel brooch to match but I know that would be a particularly rare spectacular set, great find and I am quite envious !~

Thank you for commenting, Newfld. You are so correct. Sherman pieces that combine opaque and sparkling are quite spectacular.

Thanks for your kind comments, Eileen; and always for your interest in this collection here.

PhilDMorris — Thank you. I do not own the pinwheel in the first colour combination. Have never even seen it. I have no doubt it is spectacular. Perhaps someday.

Phil once said the “robin’s egg” blue is rarest of the rare. Why didn’t Sherman use more of these wonderful stones. They are hard to find indeed. What you see “piles” of are the AB pieces. They look like the stuff is dripping off the pieces. Not to be insulting to a master designer, but it’s true. Right Phil?
And only 8 loves? Where are all the Sherman lovers?

Thanks, Eileen. So much good information.

Yes Eileen the robins egg blue opaque stones are very hard to find along with other colour combinations. This set of jade opaque earrings in particular along with a pinwheel brooch such as mine would be a real special rare wowser also. Just getting these earrings in exactly this shape, and I mean exactly like the ones pictured here are another 100% score especially if you can find the pinwheel brooch like I posted. Even on their own they are a rare find as far as earrings are concerned as there are less spectacular pinwheel shaped brooches.

Eileen, the colour matches although this necklace has shapes very rare for Sherman to use. A better match might be this necklace that I posted which is also as rare as they come for Sherman:

Oh, this is so interesting that you added a Love on this, Jenni, and moved it back to the top for a few minutes. I had sort of forgotten about this set … meaning the opague plus set. I recently actually was given a very similar set with the giant pinwheel and a set of pinwheel earring to match. I am going to try find this set, and the new set and see if the earrings are exactly the same. I will post the two together. (I do owe Watchsearcher a post, as well. Just found the brooch for her.) Thank you.
