    Regular Peltier playing marbles made in Ottawa, IL, about an hour north of where I live. These marbles were found in an attic stored in jars wrapped in newspapers printed in 1945 and in a box labeled “The Peltier Glass Company, new marbles, .”, dated 1948. I have an affection for Peltiers since they were made so close by and, when I was collecting marbles, had a disproportionate amount of them in my collection. I saved the seller's description for future reference:

    "These marbles were researched in Stanley A. Block’s Marble Mania Book and I believe these marbles may be the among listed on Page 121, either Bloodies or Rainbo. I really don’t know anything about identification so it is up to you. What you see is what you get!!!. The jar that I took them out of said “Marbles – dated 1948 in new condition.” They were stored in jars in the attic – wrapped in newspaper dated December 19, 1945. What interesting stories are in these newspapers (all yellowed and crumbled)! The carton they were in says “The Peltier Glass Company, , .” The address on the label has a 2 digit zip code."

      Wow, we all played marbles in our youth! My Brother had a huge collection, but they were just “toys” to us. My Mother made “marble bags” for him. Steelies, Cat’s Eyes...
      They are tiny works of art....

      @Ms.CrystalShip - Thanks for your comment! I have to fess up. I never played marbles as a kid. My dad knew how to play marbles and playing croquet was an art form for him. He was a country boy but the family moved to town in the 1920s.

      @kermikos - Thanks! I couldn't find a full image either!

      Thanks for loving my Peltiers MALKEY, keramikos, Vynil33rpm and Ms.CrystalShip!
