Just curious...do you live in Alaska or did this come from there?
No, we don’t live in Alaska ????. Came across it at a flea market, so I don’t know it’s origin
Any idea what the blade is made from? Non rusting? Is it sharp? I'm also curious about the hole in the tip of the blade. Possibly for a hinge pin or bolt?

The room itself measures 12 3/4”. It weighs 16.45 Oz it is sharp on one side and has a thick “serrated” edge on the opposite side Approx 1/4”. From the weight of it I am going to guess steel blade. A magnet DOES stick to the blade. The hole has no marks or grooves in or on it to suggest that a pin or bolt has ever been in it but, it is big enough for a small bolt or a cotter pin. There are no marks on the blade that would indicate it has ever been used and there is no “makers mark” anywhere visible.
Don't worry about the hole in the end, that was to hang it on a hook over a butchers bench. This type knife is common in Alaska for scaling fish and elsewhere for both scaling and removing fat layers from meat. In Alaska they have a special name for the blade but I can't remember it. As I understand it the saw type teeth lift and the blade cuts behind it. perhaps I didn't understand correctly but it's what I got out of a conversation with an Alaskan bush pilot about the one he carried.

Is there a makers name or any other identification on the knife? I posted the photos on my local knife makers forum and it has got us all baffled!

Can you expand further on the use of the knife for skinning/scaling/gutting etc? Can you recall the name of the blade? I can understand that it may well be very useful in Alaska but searching the internet doesn't throw any more info on this.
I cannot find a makers mark/stamp anywhere on it. I have searched and searched and even searched again after obtaining info here just to find out what it might be called lol. I am still unable to find ANYTHING that might be a match! I really appreciate the efforts you all are giving to help me identify EXACTLY what this is and what it’s called
