I found this in a charity store yesterday. It is part of a big set (I'll post photos of the teapot in a moment).

Here is a teacup, a coffee cup, a shallow saucer, a deep saucer, and a small plate. ^_^

Sadly, there were only two deep saucers and three coffee cups included in the set, which looks like it was originally for six.

It looks to be hand-painted, as all the leaves are different. It has no maker's marks, but it does have a pattern number (1189 on some pieces, A1189 on others).

I think it might be older than it looks, which is really exciting!

Looks interesting, and could be old. I'll do a bit of looking up in some of my books later, but just off to babysit Grandson now!

I've had a look through my books on tea cups, and it's possible these are from 1850 - 1870's. I did think they may be earlier, but if they were, they would only have one saucer, for both tea and coffee cups, and you seem to have 2 types of saucers. the handle is a ring handle with a thumb rest. This info is mostly about English cups, and these may be European etc. Lovely set, whatever the age.

Thank you so much for the information, Adele! I really appreciate it! I cannot believe my sleepy little suburb had a treasure like this. Thanks again!
