Another fun Goodwill find, this is a largish glass dispenser jug featuring the logo of OPULENT VODKA. (which is apparently a currently produced 'high end' brand? I dunno...?) It measures nearly 16" tall and 8" wide, probably holding a couple gallons worth of some variety of "liquid refreshment" to be ready to serve at the touch of a finger on its spout handle.

Unfortunately for me, I only discovered why it was priced so cheap when unwrapping it at home. (instead of when loading into my cart at the store) It has a small impact crack near its bottom on one back corner -- it doesn't really show, but means this'll remain a display-only piece instead of something I could actually use once in awhile. Nevermind that, I like it anyways?!

THANKS SO KINDLY to kwqd, fortapache, Newfld, Brunswick, blunderbuss2, & vetraio50 for stopping by with the <love it>s for this poor injured jug?!! Oh, wouldn't it be fun to have all y'all over one sunny springtime afternoon, to share a couple gallons of "refreshing beverage" from this thing, and/or to enjoy y'all wandering around the house noticing other "stuff" which might or might not have ever made it up on here yet...? <lololol> :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Seeking y'all's opinions re: that d*mned crack...and/or ways to perhaps try to minimize the risk that it'll suddenly become a *fatal* crack one of these days for some odd reason or not, rendering the whole thing otherwise a pile of glass shards for the trash... <eeek><nono>

Since it is actually on a back part of the jug that barely shows and wouldn't at all if it was sitting on a high shelf ;-) I first thought of simply trying to neatly put a piece of typical clear packing tape over the outside of the crack to maybe help 'stabilize' it (?) but with a little further thought I'm now more thinking along the lines of applying a careful line of "super glue" along the lines of the crack, on the *inside* of the jug instead.

What say ye? Anybody with any actual experience (good bad or otherwise) at 'stabilizing' cracks in glass things wanna share an opinion, or another thought, or ??? <beg>
