This was found in my latest visit to the charity shop- what appears to be a very fine and nautical telescope brooch! What made it such a delight to find was how unusual the subject is I think- it's sorta very masculine I think?! :P Another unusual thing about it is the excellent condition it's in, it's brown enamel is lovely and bright and undamaged and the catch on the back is still working.
I'm going to say it's a telescope as I can't think of what else it might be except for some kind of policeman's baton and I don't think it's that....

Actually its in the shape of a scepter, as in the King or Queen. Very nice piece !~
Wonderful piece Lauren, love the placement of the rhinestones - wouldn't this be great to wear at a costume party dressed as a lady pirate (telescope) or princess (sceptre)!
Actually now that you all say it I do think its sceptre but I do prefer to think of it as a telescope actually! :P Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
I agree totally Newfld- I like to think of it as a pirates telescope too!
