Hi, last week I was at my local fleamarket and happen to come across this clock when I first saw this clock it looked like a reproduction as it looked to be in very good condition (clean) condition but when I looked closer I could see that it was in fact from 1880-1910 I did not see any weights or the top crown or finials I asked the guy selling it if it had them he told me maybe the Weights are in the box (a big box next to the clock) I looked in all of the paper in the box and didn’t not see any Weights finials or crown top too bad when I first asked the guy how much he said $50 but I said it’s missing the weights top crown and Finials so I ask him if he would take $30 he said yes So I purchase the clock The clock measures 38 inches tall by 12 1/2 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches deep but once I get the top crown and bottom finials this Clock will probably be closer to 48+ inches I took the movements out of the Clock case and looked at it and saw that the back gong has a G and a B which has me to believe this is a Gustav Becker Clock which I know are more valuable the movement is also very clean also the center of the dial look that it have been repaired as it is a slightly different shade of white more of an off white could this dial be a (replacement ,reproduction ? )but without the weights and also I don’t know if the pully string are on correctly or backwards it did come with a key which I did wind a little and the pulley string does go up but when a pull down on the pulls string the movement does nothing I would love to know more about this Clock like it’s age how to know if the pull string is on the movement correctly also what kind of wood this case is made out of and where may I find a top crown and finials and weights and how much this may cost to get working if the strings are on backwards/wrong side I don’t think the movement needs work but I could be wrong. I hope you enjoyed reading, thank you.
