In case you had forgotten, this is how people lived in the early 19th century. Interiors from Bakkehuset (Engl. transl.: 'Hill House'), home of the Danish litterary couple Kamma Rahbek (1798-1829) and Knud Lyne Rahbek (1760-1830). He was much older than she and not particularly handsome. She was young, fragile and pretty. But they shared an interest in litterature and theater. Authors and scientists came to visit them. The house was cold and damp in winter and that killed Kamma. She died on the sofa on pic. 3.
