Bought a huge 45 record collection recently. I found this copy of a Brunswick Jackie Wilson’s Lonely Teardrops/The Blue of the Evening in with it. I have tried to research it, and have not found any translucent blue copy’s. I know that some early 45s had a color code. Is this why it is blue? Or is it because of the song The Blue of the Evening? Anyway any help would be great. Thanks

Written in 1957 by Berry Gordy..a rerelease in the next year, 1958 and in 1972.
Also released on the Corral record Lable.
Vinyl color can be traced even back to 78 RPM Shellac. Electric Light Orchestra released a blue long playing disc in the late 70s and a few others.
The reason for the blue in this disc is probably a result of song title, 'Blue of The Evening'.
The biggest selling colored vinyl was Grand Funk Railroads' 'Were An American Band' LP, Gold/Yellow in color.
I had just posted a Kiss orange.

Hello, Thanks for posting!! I am a music lover, not a collector. Jackie Wilson's "Workout" is one of the greatest dance tunes I have ever heard!!! Regards, Lou
