These have been peddled as "slave beads". The usual propaganda slave BS. I'm not convinced that this is an original. Originals were made in Venice and the art was heavily protected.
Hello blunder what should I look for to check if it is fake?
How would I know ? LOL ! The originals that I've seen have had much, much more intricate designs. This just looks too plain. Anything that sells will be followed by people faking it. I'm no expert, but wouldn't have looked at this twice. The Islander higglers have to have a source to replenish their supply of originals and somebody will full that need. How shiny is the surface ?
