Karpen Furniture, writing desk, Ca. 1930

I have acquired this writing desk from an Uncle & Aunt! It has metal tag on bottom Karpen Furniture, paper tag hard to read order# 4.14.35 maybe a date! Upper Saranac co. Would anyone know what the symbol is on the front of the letter organizer? I would appreciae any comment or information! Thank you!!
