I don’t know if Kelvin Sawatzky titles his paintings ... as Joe Fafard did some of his paintings and sculptures. I’d love to have a title for this oil on canvas; I, not Sawatzky, am calling this a “Winter Scene.” Sawatzky is a Saskatchewan, Canada-born artist, and one of the the people who painted the huge murals in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan — as part of their city refurbish. The artist’s recent work focus includes the Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada fire of 2016.

I purchased this painting at a North Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada art gallery.

*** When/If I find my Moose Jaw mural photographs, I will add a fourth photo.

The artist was certainly able to convey a message or, maybe, more like evoke feelings (in me anyway) of gloom, depression, loss, struggles against Mother Nature....the broken wire fence, leaning fence post, broken down abandoned equipment, weeds...no signs of life around the place. Too much work to maintain, so maybe an easier life was sought elsewhere...maybe a sign of the times with small farms going under.

Your welcome :) I grew up on a farm. We never had a combine though because they were to expensive LOL.

Trey — They were expensive. I wanted to live on a farm. So envied my cousins who did. :) TY.
