Found this today very nice landscape, oil on canvas, over 4' long and 3 1/2' high. The artist is C. Verkerk but there is no info. about the artist on line. Thanks to kwqd for pointing me in the right direction!! Thanks for lookin! Rob

I quickly found at least a half dozen contemporary artists with the last name Verkerk. The way I would approach it is to find examples of as many of these artists' signatures as possible and try to eliminate the non-matches that way, and maybe find a match. You could also evaluate the styles of the various artists surnamed Vankerk for similarities but artists sometimes paint in several styles.
Thanks kwqd, I saw that and I have looked at some of the other artists with that last name. Mine seems to match C. Verkerk the best and it is a unique signature. Also all of the C. Verkerk pictures have the same style, they are more open in the center of the picture with a lot going on on the sides. I still can`t seem to find out if this artist is a male or female or any history of them. Thanks again for all of your help!!

I wouldn't exactly call it art. It's too calculated for that. But 'decoration' might pass. In a cellar or another lesser used dark room.

mr. golgatha, it is an oil on canvas, and if it`s better than anything I can do, it`s art to me!!! I would rather see this in my living room than a picasso which makes no sense to me.
