this is a huge signed piece of handmade glass

I can make out that the signature is Vetri Arte but can anyone see exactly what YEAR is noted?

some of these type pieces were from Cenedese but cannot be sure?

I think it's 1947. It's possible I guess it's that old and if it is a Seguso (Vetri d'Arte) it was made in the first year. That would be amazing. It seems less worked than more recent figures.

looked like 1947 to me too but that would make it one of the early pieces produced just after WWII

if it is 70+ years old, it must have spent much of it's life in one place as there is almost no wear on the base

it is a curious piece that I bought near Trento last year

I was not aware that Vetri d'Arte was used strictly for Seguso

thought it was a more general mark shared by other brands, thanks good to know

too many people are claiming that an unmarked piece of glass is Venini Seguso Barovier Mazzega with ZERO supporting proof or provenance
