This is my vintage Pioneer PL 11, i have it for 20 years+ and i use it as my main Turntable, it has a Audiotechnica cell, sounds pretty good with my Marantz PM66SE and B&W speakers.

I totally appreciated and envy you having an older turntable!

What a BEAUTIFUL machine that is, Lata!! Yours is a bit older, also no doubt rather more 'high end', than my own Pioneer PL-512 (belt driven) which I bought brand new in the late 1970's. It still remains the turntable prominently connected to my living room house shaker sound system even though I can't use it at the moment, having somehow managed to tuck/pack its headshell/cartridge assembly someplace "safe" when I moved it here, where I've then completely *failed* to re-find it ever's in this house SOMEPLACE now but I still don't know where...and all those boxfuls of vintage vinyl downstairs just waiting to be played again, mebbe...?? [3 new milk-crates-ful of old LP's also having just come from the cleanout house idea yet if any of those were really worth dragging home but I wasn't gonna *trash* 'em anyway one way or the other?!]

I need a new old turntable. I had a Technics SLQ direct drive and it broke down after getting it fixed so I got rid of it.

I still have some of my pioneer techno wizardry. They were the ABSOLUTE BEST during their days and I remember back to 84 or 85 when they were the Kings !~

@Watchsearcher thank you :) i always used it , i love the crisp sound of vynil.
@AnythingObscure thank you, you need to put that machine back to life, music can really lift our spirits.
@Fortapache get it asap, while its still possible :)
@PhilDMorris true story, the only rival was the Technics beast SL 1200.
Thank you for all the loves

I wholly agree LATA -- I really do need to launch a fresh search to see if I can find that original headshell. I do have another (generic) one that fits it but its cartridge (made by SHURE, iirc, mebbe even better at first than the original PIONEER one that came with it?) and especially its *stylus* probably aren't now quite what I'd wanna drop onto any of my vintage vinyl...? Happily, it *does* seem like replacements are (again) becoming available, so if/when I do find the thing again one of these days, mebbe I *can* actually source a new stylus for it.

Oh, and to fortapache, Lata, or anyone else that might be curious -- it probably shouldn't come as a huge surprise to *any* of y'all that I actually also own *at least* half a dozen other various 'old turntables' from 'back in their day' -- in every case all those having been rescued from somebody else's trash piles. No idea whatsoever if any of those are 'special' (or even 'fixable/usable') in any way on their own now, but they ain't going anywhere soon anyway... ;-) :-)

Come to think of it now, at least one of those is actually a 'record changer' machine made by B.I.C. that *did* still work just fine, it was the exception to that 'trash pile' source for all the rest since, in that I did actually buy/trade/etc something of semi-value to a friend of mine then, for it.

I've a Pioneer PL-11, straight tonearm, with an angled headshell though. I don't have much info on it though.
