I bought this brooch to wear on a dress. This is my first piece of Polcini. I saw a similar Polcini brooch in the Fior Exhibition Catalog. Fior was a famous shop in London that closed 20 years ago after decades in business. The owner kept samples of the jewelry that were recently shown in an German exhibition titled Luxury for Fashion. This brooch is 2" in length.

Awesome vintage Polcini beauty Maureen, the ruby red ovals are so beautifully faceted against the icy deco framing, it's truly a knockout & a fabulous find
I know these colors Maureen! Photos do not do it justice. Polcini used only Swarovski crystals, and rhodium plating, several layers for a “mirror finish”. Polcini pieces, such as this lovely are rare and very hard to come by, and it’s in impeccable condition! Your brooch of ruby and ice is, in a word, magnificent!

I wish all designers used plating like Polcini, I have never seen a piece, ( though his pieces are rare) with verdigris or worn out plating.
Shows the quality of his pieces!

Maureen, I wore my Polcini yesterday out shopping, like I said I would for Christmas! A young girl came up to me and said, “What a stunning brooch! Are those garnets?” I thanked her and said, “it’s costume, nearly 60 years old”. “Wow”, sh said, looks like the real thing!” I told her that was the idea! Merry Christmas!
