Smallish Covered Basket w/Wood Knob Closure---Origin?

Purchased this basket at an estate sale several years ago and have always been curious as to it's origin. I've done my own on-line research but it remains a mystery. Think the photos provide the best description - it appears the wood button on the front was originally secured with a loop on the lid, now only traces remain. Similarly, I assume the other side was hinged in some way? It measures about 8" x 5" x 5". Welcome opinions/comments. Thanks (and stay safe)
