I have no idea what to make of this pair of bracelets. All pearls are present but they show a bit of loss of the coating. I believe that they are glass underneath.

The faux pearls are tightly strung over a brass base. There is a mark on top of the closure but I could not trace it yet.

The bracelets are on the small side, therefore I believe that they could have some age to it, but the size alone is not a sure way to date the pair.

    Thanks for looking:)

I am not sure either, I would definitely say they were old, probably from the 50's - 60's? The coating on pearls is called Nacre, and the thicker it is, the more expensive the pearl is. There is a lot more to know about pearls than that though and it's pretty interesting. Here is a great link to learn a little about them and their use in old jewelry! Enjoy!

Small size and design, plus they are in pair, make me think Indian wedding bangles/bracelets :-)

Kyratango, thanks so much for your comment and link. I think that you are correct. Although mine appear to be a bit older than the ones in your link, the bangles might be, like you suggested, Indian wedding bangles. It also would make perfect sense to find them where I live because we have a very large number, if not a majority, of Indian population in Brampton.
      Thanks again,
      Gudrun
