I have a very large Minton platter. My mother was a collector of porcelain and glass. She visited me when I had my first apartment and we took a trip to an antiques mall. She bought me this platter as a house warming present. It is dated from 1878. The platter measures 20" by 16". It is not porcelain it is pottery (earthenware).

Thanks IVAN49 for the correction. I was going by the registry mark which contains the letter D for 1878, but I now know about that little quartered square impressed mark that is the actual production year. Do you know the name of this pattern?
