Don't remember when or where I picked up this piece, first thought it was a lighter of some sort. Only to discover it is an atomizer. The tubing is metal and the base looks to be bakelite, there is the large circle in the middle that appears to have been the "pump" to release the scent. really net.

Very cool! A very early version of a room air-freshener, probably. What a useful and fun conversation piece if you put it in your guest bathroom! ;-)

Trying to decide whether to add one to my bucket list. Not real sure how it works either ?

      Watchsearcher & blunderbuss2 - both comments are great !
      I think it is :
raise the arm - aim - press blk circle - spray.
hope to find out more, thanks

Is that a form of sponge in the circle?

thanks Collectable59 for your question. the center circle feels like a sponge leather, if that makes an sense , I have not really pressed on it due to it's condition, but it looks leather, yet is flexible.
