this is a nice brooch, or pendant. I don't know too much about cameos and the material. it might be bakelite I'm not sure. Any thoughts or comments welcomed

Bakelite and 1930s was my first thought, but just a feeling as I am definitely not a jewelry expert.

Very interesting piece, can't recall having seen another like it. I would not quite call it a cameo, but close enough.
The black material appears to be jet. You do see cameos set in the same kind of frames. Hard to determine the other materials from photos. Metal plate could be gilt brass. The flowers look like they could be mother of pearl? Possibly shell. And dabs of red enamel paint in the centers?
Very pretty!
Oh, and also it would be English & 20th century based on the clasp, in a Victorian style. People tend to call any jewelry with black elements 'mourning jewelry'; I don't think that was the intention here. That era was over when this was made.
