I have read and learned so much over the last 6 months. Amy Sandheim pieces, I have looked at on here and researched on the net, appealed to me from the very start. Her work, in my novice opinion, is so very wearable today. I love her use of foiled coloured moonstones , the bold size of her works, although this piece is not quite so bold as others I have seen. I did however fall instantly in love as soon as my eyes spied it ! There was something about the balance in the piece, the proportions, that spoke to me. I must admit also to falling in love with those girls, all friends, Amy, Sybil, and Dorrie. Wanting to own pieces is not an easy desire to fulfil as pieces are few and far between , highly contested at auctions, ( I am not rich :( ) and expensive . This Piece came to me from a lovely dealer in the U.K , most of you probably familiar with the site. I am grateful to own a piece of Amy's work.
Hi Sue, I love Amy she did some great silver Work. This necklace is absolutely gorgeous, I do have a few pieces by her. I Have to admit I was eyeing this necklace up, I’m glad it’s gone to a Good home were it will be appreciated.
Hi Jean yes I have it on my bedside table and can see it last thing before I go to sleep and first thing I wake in the morning ! I will certainly treasure it. Do you wear your pieces out ? I often wonder if collectors do wear their treasures or just collect . I am a wearer , but I am super careful too. I even wear jewellery in the house because it cheers me up :) :). I too wear my pieces (able to wear coral tiara at home when I had long hair, lol), and always keep the latest in view to admire first and last moments in the day :-D
Hi Kyratango. Your adorable I just love that you wore a tiara at home ......and why not ! These beautiful things should be for our pleasure wherever we are. Thanks for the Kudos on the Amy , I really love it. I worked hard to get it , I have a little online shop on one of the popular sites. I sell buttons , hankies and beads , all vintage and antique. Can you imagine how many buttons and hankies I had to sell to buy this !! But it was a great goal I had in site. Thanks for commenting again, it’s a thrill when someone else loves your piece too.
