This vase is 4" high and 2.75" in diameter, with a flat ground, polished base. It is thick, heavy glass, so possibly meant to do double duty as a paperweight. It is clear glass, the white in the images are reflections. It retains its original label, but it is very worn. It is still possible to read the name of the company, but under that it once read "Craft glass of Japan". I was surprised to find no Sugahara glass on CW, as I have been looking for a couple of examples for a few months. Sugahara was founded in 1932 and is still in business, still making glass, but its products are a bit expensive. This vase is not in their current catalog. It was also made in opalescent glass.

Thanks for loving my Sugahara vase charcoal, Eileen and SEAN68!
Nice one Kevin. SGHR do like fairly heavy for size pieces with thick walls and small internal holes.
I was surprised when you said there was no Sugahara on CW because I'm sure I have posted some. I must have been dreaming lol.
Thanks Karen. I worked on an assembly line in a factory for a while after I got out of the Army and I would sometimes wake up going through the motions of the work I performed! I hope CW dream posting is more fun! I would like to see some of your Sugahara glass!
