this is a beautiful example of the jewelry made by Esinberg. this piece is in neede of repair, two of the blue stones are missing. I have one of them - will be looking for the last one and then to repair shop. this is a really nice brooch
I agree, it is a very nice brooch.
Broochman, to answer your comment, the stones are not glued they are in with prongs. the stones that are in need of repair had the prongs bend somehow. they are not glued. Lori
Broochman, but then it does appear to have the clear stones glued. hhmmm..
Pretty, but sadly, something tells me this is a repro. Ken is right, those “prongs” are ornamental, not functional. Also the cartouche looks glued on, that sent a red flag. Eisenberg is one that is mass- produced, as is Weiss...aka “Fakes” on the web today, most coming from Rhode Island. Also Eisenberg pieces are being made today, though not by the “founding family”, so this could be “Contemporary” . I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think so. I wouldn’t want you spending more on repairs is this isn’t genuine.
Simply gorgeous!
Ms.CrystalShip & Broochman, thank you so much for the information. I appreciate the comments and advise - I will put this one up and hopefully one day find a home for it, as is. Thanks again
Thank you for being so gracious “Lori”. I have seen other “not so genuine pieces” here, but I don’t dare say anything, as the person who posts them would get very upset. I don’t think they have a clue. But this is a learning site, for all of us.
Ken has many beautiful Eisenbergs. You can go to the archives and familiar yourself with them, knowledge is key. ( I once bought a whole Florenza set, later I learned it was fake.) So you see, it happens to us all. And call me Eileen :)
